Dear Mill Customer,

As of 2/1/10, it is necessary for us to make some policy changes to our mill business. With this poor economy, we have had our share of non-paying, or slow paying, accounts. This has resulted in our inability to stay current with our bills. The alpacas still need to be fed, as many of you well understand. So, when current orders come up for processing, Blair will call you to verify desired services, approximate cost, and we will be requesting 50% deposit before starting work. For some accounts, he may require 100% payment up front. We hope you understand these changes are necessary for us to stay in business for the llama and alpaca industry.

Many customers have asked if we will accept credit cards. We do have the ability to accept payments through Paypal, so if this is your preference, we can send an invoice. There will be a 3% fee if credit card is used. We will also begin implementing a 5% late fee each month of over 30 days late, unless you make other arrangements.

In addition, we have noticed an increase in difficulty working with some alpaca fiber. We are not completely sure, but feel there is some relation to addition of flax seed and/or livestock blend pellets to the diets. If you have made these changes, please be aware that we are seeing a change to the cuticle of the fiber. The alpaca is not slipping through the machinery like typical fiber. This is resulting in more slubbing (more hand spun look), and heavier yarns. So if you have made these dietary adjustments, please let us know, because we may have trouble producing certain products.
